En una alternativa de 1969, el mundo, y especialmente los Estados Unidos, observan en shock como la Unión Soviética logra aterrizar hombres en la Luna antes que los EE.UU. Con esa derrota, la NASA se presenta con un reto renovado en la carrera espacial que nunca esperaban enfrentar.
